Kitamura Machine Works Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”) sets out below how we handle personal information in connection with this website and the services we provide through it.

1. Personal information

“Personal information” means information relating to a living individual that can identify that individual — such as a name, address, telephone number or email address — as defined by Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

We also collect usage information that does not identify an individual, such as the pages viewed, the date and time of access, the browser and device used, IP addresses and cookie information.

2. How we collect information

We collect personal information that you provide directly, for example when you send an inquiry or request a catalog through a form on this website. Usage information is collected automatically when you browse the site.

3. Purposes of use

We use personal information for the following purposes only:

• to respond to inquiries, quotation requests and catalog requests;
• to provide information about our products and services that you have asked for;
• to provide after-sales support for machines we have supplied;
• to improve this website and our products and services;
• for purposes incidental to those above.

4. Providing information to third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except where required by law, where necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property and consent is difficult to obtain, or where we entrust handling to a contractor within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes above.

5. Disclosure, correction and deletion

If you ask us to disclose, correct, add to, delete or suspend the use of your personal information, we will verify that the request comes from you and respond without undue delay. We may decline where disclosure would harm the rights or interests of you or a third party, would seriously impede our operations, or would breach any law.

6. Management of personal information

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to keep personal information accurate and up to date, and to prevent unauthorised access, loss, damage, alteration or disclosure.

7. Cookies

This website may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work as intended.
